Daniel E. Craig is an author, marketing executive and former hotel general manager. He has worked for a variety of hotels and travel industry organizations in positions ranging from front desk agent to vice president.

Under his leadership as general manager, Opus Hotel in Vancouver was voted one of the World’s Best 100 Hotels by readers of Condé Nast Traveler. At Opus he launched the first-ever hotel blog, which attracted a worldwide following for its irreverent insider’s look at running the hotel.

Daniel is the author of Murder at the Universe and two other mystery novels set in hotels, as well as various articles, guides and the popular Reknown blog.

Having experienced the joys and pains of consumer reviews as a hotelier and author, he founded Reknown to help hotels and travel businesses worldwide manage reputation and leverage the powers of digital marketing.

Considered the foremost worldwide expert in online reputation management in the hotel industry, Daniel is a frequent speaker at conferences and events around the world. He has been keynote speaker at Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ Annual Conference in Hong Kong, the International Hotel, Motel & Restaurant Show in New York, Congreso Internacional de la Hoteleria in Cartagena, Colombia, and for three years running at Buy Tourism Online in Florence, Italy.

He is host and producer of a series of educational webinars for TripAdvisor and ReviewPro and has conducted over 100 online reputation managements seminars on behalf of Destination British Columbia, in addition to developing numerous guides and best practices.
